I've been busy working on some paintings, so I thought I would share one of my many duck pictures. This is a male American Wigeon photographed at Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park, Vancouver.

151/365 Captured Moments - Flowers In Her Hair....
Being transported back into the 60's this morning
Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere.....

150/365 Captured Moments - Passage of Time
As each year passes I watch as the structure of this old barn slowly deteriorates. The light of a silent history is illuminated by the old timbers.

149/365 Captured Moments - The Hula Girl
I came across a hula girl, way out in the country, no houses near by or children playing.....the whimsy of it makes me smile. There was one on each end of the bridge.....the other had fallen...far to the ground...perhaps waiting for someone to pick her up.

144/365 Captured Moments - Golden Ears
One of my favorite things about doing photography is the people I meet along the way. While I was shooting this image of the Golden Ears one of the locals came down to see what I was up to and gave me a brief but interesting history of the farms in this area.
What captured my attention when I shot this was how distinct each mountain range was and how it blued out as they went further back in distance. As an artist I know this and have seen it but on a much lesser scale.

143/365 Captured Moments - A Million Dollar View
A beautiful sunset to finish off a nice relaxing weekend, today was especially good, I worked on a couple of paintings and relaxed in the sun with a book.
This was shot from down in the valley. I liked the silhouette of the house and the tall trees against the backdrop of the sunset. I would happily sit up there and watch the sun set every night.

141/365 Captured Moments - Delicate Threads
The delicate threads of a spiders web woven throughout a dried weed catches my eye as the sun sinks low in the sky. Beauty in nature.

140/365 Captured Moments - Eagle in Flight
A eagle in flight is always a wonderful sight to behold. But how much more wondrous when showcased against our local densely forested mountains and just to make it extra special some fog is tossed in for good measure.

139/365 Captured Moments - Sunset Roses
The glorious colors of these roses reminds me of a beautiful sunset with their delicate hues of pinks, oranges, and warm yellows. I adore vases of fresh fragrant flowers gracing the rooms in my home. If I could have I would have brought home an armful of these roses they were so exquisite, but alas these images were made at a public garden.

I can't get enough of these beautiful blues, I love how the soft blurred background flowers convey depth, and the romantic atmosphere.

136/365 Captured Moments - Do you see what I see?
The Harrison River has overflowed it's banks with the water slowly creeping across the farmland, all that is showing are a few fence posts, some strands of fence wire and a few long blades of grass.
Add these items along with their reflections and some interesting sculptures appear.

135/365 Captured Moments - Wild Flowers or Weeds?
A falling down old fence with some rusty wire and pretty blue wild flowers for contrast between old & new. I suppose some would call the wild flowers weeds, not that it matters to me, I find them very pretty.

132/365 Captured Moments - Glen Valley Look Out
Looking down into the valley where I go to shoot many of my images, it's also the way I drive to and from work. It takes me about 15 minutes longer to get home but it's a great drive to relax and unwind on, well worth it.

130/364 Captured Moments/ Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree.....
This image brings to mind the old song Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree by Glenn Miller.

129/365 Captured Moments - Miniature Horses & Gold Fields
Miniature horses grazing in fields of golden/green grasses almost as tall as they are. It's quiet up here on the hill top away from the heavy traffic areas, I guess i'm just a small town girl at heart, and love these wide open spaces.

128/365 Captured Moments - A Quiet Path
A quiet path along the Fraser River. Branches of big old trees span across the path bringing much needed shade on a hot day.
Wild roses are beginning to bloom, I listen to the drone of the bees as they move from flower to flower.

127/365 Captured Moments - Fields of Green/Gold
The farmers are busy cutting, tettering, and bailing hay while the weather holds in a sunny warm pattern for the rest of this week. On the way home from work I saw a field full of the small rectangle bales, reminding me of days past when the farmers would enlist family and friends to help bring the bales in, working late into the evening, you could hear them laughing and calling out in friendly competition as they tossed the bales high up onto full wagons. Now everything is done by big impersonal machines.

125/364 Captured Moments - Wild Poppies
Many times I will pass right by something and not even notice them, such was the case with these wild poppies I spotted in a farmers field as I retraced my steps after realizing that I had lost my camera strap (found it in some long grass).
I love the tiny bud in the first image.

123/365 Captured Moments of the Weekend South Langley
The weather has been glorious, sunny and warm. Sadly I somehow managed to put my back/hip out but that didn't stop me from exploring. I ventured into South Langley in my quest for old barns, red ones are my favorite but I also want to capture the old gray dilapidated ones, before they are no more.
I'm sure people wonder when they see me taking pictures of their properties, or animals, and yes i'm the one that is peering into your garden with my zoom lens.
It started off with a trip along a winding road
The stories these old timbers could tell.......
The dew was heavy on the grass, I love how it sparkles and the lavender tint.
I thought I had missed the Dogwoods, this image almost looks like it could be a painting.
As I was taking pictures of some other horses a couple out for a walk pointed out a road where there were some new foals. This one was staying close to mama until its curiosity got the best of him.
And a weather vane to end the day!

121/365 Captured Moments - Apparitions In The Fog
In the quiet morning you can hear them moving about, these creatures in the fog. You hear the clump of heavy hoofs as they move through the dew laden grass, their heavy breaths and groans as they come towards you. Slowly one by one these shadowy apparitions emerge from the fog to reveal themselves .....as cows.
