169/365 Captured Moments - Acrylic Painting - Wild Flowers

Inspired by the blue wild flowers I posted  here.  This was a fun little painting, very loosely painted with multiple glazes and finished off with a thick layer of Golden Soft Gel, although it is supposed to be self leveling after it dried I noticed it still had some dips so I added another thinner layer of gel.

156/365 Captured Moments - A Wild Rose For You

Sometimes when I come home from a photo shoot all the images on my camera are just mediocre, such was the case last night  I probably deleted 80% of the photos but I did get one pretty wild rose.

141/365 Captured Moments - Delicate Threads

The delicate threads of a spiders web woven throughout a dried weed catches my eye as the sun sinks low in the sky.  Beauty in nature.

I can't get enough of these beautiful blues, I love how the soft blurred background flowers convey depth, and the romantic atmosphere.

135/365 Captured Moments - Wild Flowers or Weeds?

A falling down old fence with some rusty wire and pretty blue wild flowers for contrast between old & new.  I suppose some would call the wild flowers weeds, not that it matters to me, I find them very pretty.

128/365 Captured Moments - A Quiet Path

A quiet path along the Fraser River.  Branches of big old trees span across the path bringing much needed shade on a hot day.

Wild roses are beginning to bloom, I listen to the drone of the bees as they move from flower to flower.

119/365 Captured Moments - Foxgloves In My Garden

Today's image comes from a little corner of my own front yard.  The foxgloves are new this year, they are one of those mystery plants that just show up in my garden unannounced.  One year a stargazer lily appeared, another year a daffodil.  I call them visitors to my garden as they show up one year but not the next.

I love the flowers against this old weathered wood fence it makes for a wonderful backdrop.  I am attracted to contrasts.  In this case the newness of the flowers against the weathered wood (Old & New) as well as the bright magenta against the neutral gray of the boards.

If you look very closely on the right hand side you can just barely make out a delicate spiders web in the image below.

57/365 Captured Moments - Wild Things

Wild think you make my heart sing, you make everything groovy.....I think I love you......well that was a dead give away of the generation I grew up in. Every time I hear the words wild and thing together that song pops into my mind and won't get out.

Today I give you a trio of delicate wild flowers, these images were shot at Heritage Park in Mission. The park has been extended to include an extensive selection of trails where you can immerse yourself in the glory of nature.
